We went on a much needed weekend get-away for just the two of us to the City. For no reason at all except much needed. We have done some weekend vacations with no kids, but never with no other couples. We were totally ALONE, which we have not done since out honeymoon.
We took BART out Friday afternoon and strolled around China Town and ate Paul's favorite food, Chinese. On Saturday, we went to Ike's Sandwich Shop that Paul had seen on the travel channel. They specialize in gigantic sandwiches. He ordered the Superman which is a 7 POUND sandwich, and he was able to eat half! We took our sandwich down to the Embarcadero and ate in the park. We then used our iphones to navigate our way to Coit Tower. That was a neat hike, and the tower was impressive.
That evening we went to a great little Italian restaurant where I enjoyed Gnocci, and a few glasses of wine. We hit the top of the Mark, and a few bars, and finished the night at a dance club with many more cocktails.
Looking forward to another alone get-away.
