We had a beautiful birthday celebration for Pj's 16th! He decided to hang out at the house with a few buddies, so we hooked up the garage with some music, the PS3, poker, air hockey, and a bunch of snacks and soda. We had black and silver balloons on the ceiling, and a 16th banner. He chose Pesto Tortellini for dinner, and we paired that with some lasagnas.
Since his and Noah's birthday's are two days apart, we combined his celebration with Noah's 4th, and celebrated amongst loving family and friends.
We had two cakes, one for each birthday boy. Noah had a "cupcake" cake with a backwards "4", and Pj had a white cake with fresh strawberries and whip cream. It was the most amazing thing....when it came time to put the candles on Pj's cake I started by just clumping them in groups not really thinking at first... and then I just kept adding them and adding them until I had four little clusters of four. And for just a moment, I remembered back to when I stopped at four for Pj's 4th... the same amount of candles needed for Noah today.... It was a reminder of how fast time goes by, and how much they mature and grow, and how much can happen in each little cluster of 4...
Thank you all, our family and special friends, that made the day so special for my baby boys.
